This is what I sent to Avid today. I'm furious that which each version there is a noticeable drop in stability:
I'd like to express my dissatisfaction after being on HD support & upgrade plan for past 6 months. 12.5 version is so unstable I reverted back to 12.4 and it is still not as stable as PT 10. In the past 10 years of being Pro Tools HD owner I have never had to revert back even once. You asked me to lend you money in exchange for future upgrades and support. Upgrades are more unstable than ever. Words could not express how poor the support is. Even a request for a HEAT trial license after I tried it 4 or 5 year ago was something extremely difficult to do from your side and it required unnecessary explanations why I might want another trial after you introduced HEAT to HD Native system, which I currently own. Support cases regarding the instability and issues with new functions, for example huge lag while performing single track Freeze on larger sessions, were a complete waste of time. Instead of being grateful that I reported an existing problem, you blamed my setup (plugins). That led me to believe that you rejected the existence of the problem instead of investigating the root cause. Therefore I will not be reporting another support case that the number of 12.5 crashes each day make it unusable, because I know that it is not going to help me in any way and it will cost me my precious time. What I'd like you to consider is whether you might want to give not only me, but all HD users, additional free year of upgrades. You should also consider dropping $999 penalty for making a break in your beta-test-lend-money-to-Avid program. This plan is the biggest failure I experienced not only with Pro Tools but in the whole world of products for recording, editing and mixing audio.
